Hey all,

I recently had a very short power cut to the house. Everything went off and then came back on after a second or two. Everything in the house was affected - The TV had to be turned back on, digital clocks had to be reprogrammed etc.

However, my computer was completely unaffected ...

I have a EVGA SuperNOVA G2 PSU, and I just wondered if it was something in this that helped it stay on?

Nevertheless, I was impressed :p

it will simply be the capacitors had enough charge stored up during your 2-second power cut to ride it out without any having your PC lose power and turn off.

Yeah idd, have you noticed when you turn some things off it takes a few seconds for all the leds to go out like TVs etc. I have a 6 way adapter on the back of my desk which cuts power to everything when i turn it off, and yet the monitor will remain on for a good 5 seconds, my keyboard leds stay on even longer. Its also why everyone recommends repeatedly pressing the power button after you unplugged the PC to drain the caps before you try clearing your bios or just taking it apart.

Cool! Thanks for the explanation :D

I've never experienced it before and thought it would pretty sweet that everything in the house didn't stay on but my rig was safe and sound :p

That's absolutely great. I'm currently deciding between EVGA G2/P2 and Corsair HXi and that's definitely swaying me towards EVGA.

I researched for a real long time before I went ahead and bought the parts for my rig a few months ago - I kept hearing great things about the EVGA SuperNOVA G2, so I went for it. It hasn't missed a beat :D
