What sized PSU should one be considering when looking at running 8800gtx in sli (eventually)?

i currently have a 620w psu but after reading some of these threads im not sure that is enough...

think of ** electric bill first
Am I right in saying though that it depends how much power the components are drawing? i.e if you have an ancient p4, an old geforce card and 512ram, then your electric bill won't be as high as if you had an Intel Quad Core, 8800GTX SLI, 4GB ram, x4 10,000RPM SATA HDs, and a complete florescant lighting kit and with everything overclocked to the max?

correct, just like a 60watt bulb uses less electricity than a 100watt bulb, if your comp is drawing so much power that it needs a 1000watt psu then its going to cost more to run than a pc which only needs a 350watt psu

Id get the Enermax Galaxy 1000w, considering 1x GTX needs about 500w.

They need some power requirements for SLi, and some amps on the 12v rails, they need 4x PCI-E connectors as well, so if your gona run a grands worth of cards then its better to be safe than sorry, get a decent PSU for em as well, Enermax Galaxy 1000w as said. :)
