I've never been keen on the Xbox controllers, which is one of the main ive avoided buying one for so long. The only pad ive ever liked is the original PSX one without the analogue pads.

So now i have an xbox, bought after discovering that Tekken 6 was available on it (and most of my friends have xbox's), i am really struggling with the controller :(
Apparently the D-Pad is analogue and feels really unresponsive, the design of the pad compared to the PS one means that my thumb is it a really weird angle and at this time my only option is the use the analogue stick to play the game. I have to say though, i do prefer the analogue sticks on the xbox compared to the playstation although i;ve always avoided using them.

I know about the XIM360 but that's mainly for keyboard and mouse use, maybe it will work with my logitech usb pad, but its bloody expensive!

Ive just read about something called the Access Control which is pad designed for one handed players, but the best thing about is that it allows you to decide where the buttons are positioned on the controller :D ..except it doesn't look very comfortable for 2 handed players :(

Does anyone know if its possible to get a PSX style pad for use with the 360? I'm really beginning to wish i had bought a PS3 ... or just made do with Tekken 3 on ePSXe :(

Cheers

You might be able to find one of the "improved" green pads which were released along with PES a year or so back. They were supposed to have an improved D-Pad but I think they were just a limited run.

Strange, I think the pad is the best thing about the 360. Conforms much more naturally to my grip than the Sony PS ones.

If it's just for Tekken then you could always buy an arcade stick rather than a game pad

Yeah ive seen that but i'd really rather use what im used to, my trusty ol' psx pad :p

I don't get why microsoft decided to switch the d-pad and stick around, if i try to use the d-pad to play tekken, either the stick gets in the way or i keep pressing the X button, really irritating. As is trying to get the timing right for a simple move such is forward forward kick, which is easy on the psx pad doesnt always work xbox one. :(

Is it it just me or does it feel like you have to be extra extra precise with the xbox d-pad?
