Howdy,

It's my mates 21st soon and he has decided we shall be playing pub golf before heading to a club ect.

What shall I wear that won't make me look a twit lol?

I'm thinking white gloves, light blue lyle & scott polo t-shirt but what trousers and shoes???

Cheers

thats the whole point ;)

boardy shorts, beige or something i normally whack on, get some high length white sporty socks to match, then something adequate for foot wear.

think last time i just wore white trainers.

Its a great laugh.

We spend more time trying to get the wakyest outfit than worrying about anything else lol

One guy ever went old school and wore kilt like clothes, were okay tho as St Andrews is only 5 mins away so plenty shops

If you're going to do it then usually a bairns plastic golf club has to be carried, waved around unsteadily and then dropped after gesticulating wildly at which point you need to scrabble around frantically trying to retrieve it.

Some sort of flat cap seems to be traditional too but realistically if you're worried about looking stupid then pub golf isn't the game for you. You have to look like a bunch of gaudy coloured locusts descending on pub after pub and don't forget a scorecard if you are doing it properly.

I don't understand this craze at all. Why would you want to go down the pub looking like some over-dressed golfer?

Hang on you're doing pub golf and still expect to be sober/conscious enough to go to a club afterwards?

Am I the only person here that doesn't have the slightest clue what pub golf is?

Regardless, I'll offer a tidbit of advice to the OP. You mentioned wearing gloves, but one glove would be better as golfers rarely wear two gloves.

It has various levels, especially once you get into the Pro/Am match-ups and suchlike.

Basically, you go to 18 pubs, each pub has a drink with a par score - the number of attempts you have at finishing the drink.

For example, a double JD and coke could be a par 3 - down in one and you get an Eagle so 2 under par etc. Or Par 4 could be a double JD & coke and a shot of tequila to be done in a combined 4 goes.

Par 5's might be a yard of ale, 2 pints of lager or suchlike.

Then you can have all sorts of other mini-games, 'longest drive' on a hole would be quickest to sink a drink perhaps.

You get the idea :p

Depends how long you spread it out over I guess - when I've done it its been rushed from one pub to the next, no way I could take 18 drinks in the space of 2 hours

the real men do :D

never known a woman to complete an 18 hole'r ever... saying that don't think we've ever had a female complete even half... surprise surprise :p
That's why you do Pro/Am doubles, pair up guys with girls, even tie them together for more lulz

Pro drinks - Doubles/Pints
Am drinks - Singles/Halves

Either both finish or D/Q :D

Gah, drinking games should be simple!
