Not that I can think of off the top of my head, provided you aren't causing harrasment alarm or distress to anyone

It used to be perfectly fine, we did it all the time. These days though you have to contend with all the idiotic legislation that the cretins in power have enacted. They'll probably have you done under some half-arsed EU anti-pollution law or detain you for 40 days under the prevention of terrorism act.

I say go for it, and if they give you any bother then screw them! :)

We've had a few bbqs on the park in front of the police station and they haven't said anything, should be fine.

nothing to do with the UK but a few beaches in Sydney and also Cairns Australia have public BBQ`s, very cool and lots of people spent their evenings relaxing having a BBQ and a lie on the beach

Bit over dramatic there Azagoth lol.

oh, and all this time we would hide behind bushes when having bbqs in the park.. well at least now i know its legalll wooo - makes it less fun now though :|

As long as you put all the Wagons in a circle you should be fine.

I've done one or two BBQ's in the park over the road from me - on my birthday with about 10 of us there - right next to a fenced football area - perfect for a kick about and then munch from the barbie!

Have actually since seen that the park does apparently have a rule stating no public BBQ's are allowed but we never had any trouble the times we had one :)

If there is a sign, you are in for a fine.

If there is no sign, you will be fine.

Most parks will have a bylaw. You could check your local councils website (providing the park is in their district), for the rules.

It may specify that no disposable ones can be used, or what hours you can do it bla bla bla

I was woundering this the other day.. Ill have to check. If not i can see a camping trip coming on lol
