Public IP being assigned by ST585 v6

Hey guys. I am with talk talk which is problem enough, but recently my router has decided to keep assigning me an external address of 88.111.xxx.xxx for example. Why on earth does it keep doing this to me? It should be assigning me an internal address of 192.168.1.64 to 72 why has it reserved all the other IP's and decided to apply a public one to me?

Your router needs the public IP address to be able to communicate to the internet?

Or do you mean the router is assigning your computer with a public IP address through DHCP?

The router is assigning my computer what i believe to be the public IP. It also seems to change the leasing from always use the same to do not always use same as it pleases. Is it time for a factory reset?

Have you tried going into command prompt on your computer and using ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew?

These will force DHCP to assign your PC a new IP configuration.

I've been waiting for some1 to teach me how to do this! I'll give it a whirl and see what router says.
Router may say no, it's not been normal for about a week now.

How are you getting your PC IP? If from a website it will show as the public IP due to NAT.

ipconfig /all from the command prompt will show you what it is set to.

Don't worry im not a complete noob. Im checking it in CMD with ipconfig and on the router itself in devices it labels what IP it has assigned to what device.

Well, it's stopped giving out public IP's as far as I am aware. But it is randomly assigning an enforced static to IP to one machine on the network at a time.

This unfortunately hasn't solved the issue that I was having before this. I am working on a server, and for some reason when I send a command to the server, it restarts my router??? I have looked it up and people have had the same problem, but they have no idea how to solve it.
