Hi all,

I wonder if you can help me out here:

I have set up a new server recently over in Guernsey running SBS 2008 and Exchange 2007, i have copied all mailboxes over from the old server here in england, old server runs SBS 2003 and Exchange 2003.

I didn't copy the Public folders over at the time like a fool.

How can i get the Public folders over onto the new server, bare in mind this is in another country, i can RDP and have set up VPN access to both servers, the new server is on a 64bit OS and obviously has 64bit Exchange 2k7 and the servers are not a member of the same domain.

Thanks.

Export to PST via Outlook from the old server, import via Outlook on the new server?
I think this is the strongest chioce.

If they were in the same domain you could enable Public Folder replication between the sites, wait for that to complete then break the replication leaving the Guernsey server with a complete replica - which will then become master.

Edit: After some mental rummaging, you can use the InterOrg Replication Tool - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238573

oops! i didnt mean mail boxes.

Public Folders, we have a shared calendar and a shared contacts file.

Same difference, both can be exported to .PST files and then imported by a user with sufficient permissions.

Though you will have to re-create the public folders and set permissions manually on the new server. Which ain't practical if you have lots of folders, but if it's just a few it'll work pretty smooth

i didnt know i could export a public calender to a pst

that makes it rather simple then, ill have to install outlook on the old server though. lol.

Thanks again fellas
