Anyone could recommend me a few pubs near Birmingham new street station that are decent? Not looking for anything specific , just want some ideas on where to go ...Cheers :)

Be wary though; The German Christmas market is in full swing along the top of New Street and into Centenary Square and because of that Saturdays in the city centre are a heaving mass of humanity, beggars and pick pockets engaged in a large scrum.

That's a very good point, if you want to get anywhere within the centre take a big sharp stick to poke people with.
While that's on I try and only go into brum on weekdays if I have to so at least it's a bit quieter.

The Bacchus is a great pub too, that's right outside the new street exit of the train station (Under the Berlington Hotel iirc...) there's huge big blue banners otuside running 20ft up the building, through there, down the stairs with the murials on the wall, and you're into the Bacchus.

As mentioned, Wellington, Old Joint Stock, Post Office vaults are also good.

A bit further out you have brewdog, which is a top pub too and even further out you have Old Contemptables and Pub Du Vin, which are nice - these are by snow hill station, a 10 minute walk from New Street.

Within Brindley Place (canals) you have a few pubs there too, like Pitcher and Piano (mentioned above) and a few other little bars.

All good choices (Used to live in the town centre for a few years).

With the exception of the old joint stock I'm not a fan of the others mentioned.

Brewdog is definitely the best pub in bham imo and is right next to new street.

Nothing to really add apart from I agree with the pubs named above.

Though I am now wondering how many OCUKers I have randomly seen in pubs but not known
