A problem has developed on my trusty old 205 with the indicators. The drivers side front and side repeater indicators are not working, only the rear, which flashes at double speed. Indicating left is fine.

All the fuses are ok, as are the bulbs, and I'm not sure what is most likely to be the problem.

Is this something that could be caused by the switch (or whatever it is called, the box that makes the clicking noise) that controls the flashing of the indicators going wrong and needing replacing, or is it more likely to be a wiring problem??

Any ideas appreciated!

could possibly be the relay.. did you check the contacts at the indicator side? where the lamp fits in? may be corroded alittle.. or not making proper contact.. there aint that much to indicators really so shouldnt be that hard to fix.. doubt it has anything to do with the wiring if its just developed over time :)

It's definitely the bulbs mate.

I had the same problem in the same car. One of them is either blown or loose. Wiggle them about or replace them.

It's the french Ghost syndrome just kick it slam the door or leave it till the morning.
Then in the morning if it still don't work then take the other bulb out that you Know works and try that to illiminate the bulb as the cause.
If the bulb is good and all the other indicators work ok then something has probably come up the inside of the arch and knocked the wiring loose.
failing that corrosion is effecting your earth.
