PUK (phone unlock code)

A friend of mine has bought a new phone (N80) via Orange online but has managed to enter the wrong PIN.
The phone now asks for the PUK (phone unlock code).
She tried calling orange customer services but I gather she got through to some automated service because it asked her for her mobile phone number.
Being a new contract and not being able to access the phone she doesn't know what her new phone number is.

So she would like to know firstly how to find out what her PUK is (where to look?)
Secondly she'd like to know what her new number is as it was not mentioned on the contract paperwork that she received (or at least not on the sheets that I saw).

Can anyone help?

you can only get the PUK over the phone.
As for the phone number, im guessing she didnt buy it new. as if it was all phones have sim details stuck on the outer packaging of the phone (stuck on box) its a white big sticker, hard to miss. its got the IMEI number or whatever phone number and S/N.

As said the phone number will be on the box somwhere with a long serial number underneath it.

im sure most sims have the phone number on them now, also, im sure phones come with the phone number and the generic pin and PUK / PUK2 on a piece of paper in the box?

You can only get the PUK code from the Orange website if you have already set it up for online access (which requires the phone to be working to receive a security code)

To find her number it should be on the side of the box along with the imei and sim number on a white sticker. It may be labled 'msisdn'

Failing that, if she calls through and enters all 0's it should pass her through, and the mobile number can then be identified from the sim number.

When I needed my phones puk number I just typed my phone number into the O2 website and it gave me it, with no previous setup required, I didn't even to log into the website.

The phone number was on the box and a call to orange got it all sorted, thanks for that
