pull win 7 key off laptop without install

any progs that do this without installing? my kids decided to change password

as i cant get admin on it to install anything. just want to get the win7 key off and then do a fresh reinstall but havent got the code as yes kids have pulled the sticker off

pref simple and free if possible. thanks.

In days gone by it could be run without installation, although that would likely need elevated permissions anyway.

However, take the hard drive out of the laptop, plug it into a PC and run the keyfinder on there. Point it at your laptop drive and hey presto.

If it's a big brand you can probably use a utility such as SLIC Toolkit to get product key and certificate, then once Windows reinstalled (without using product key) you use command prompt to re-insert the two files.

Can use commands from section 6E to 6F from mydigitallife

If using Vista or earlier then other methods are available.
