Pulled the trigger on the 17-55 f/2.8!

Finally did it, after much discussion here and research on the web, I placed the order for the Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS

Should be here with me on Friday.

Got it from Wilkinson Camera, on the last day of the Canon cash-back offer. With the rebate it's cheaper than importing from HK vendors so pretty pleased I spotted it.

Looking forward to it. Now to get a UV filter to protect the bugger.

You won't regret it. I didn't get a UV filter, instead I'm using a Marumi DHG Super Lens Protect filter which seems to be doing the job. I use a lens hood to cut down on flare.

I had a cheap one and it was rubbish so ended up buying the proper Canon one.

Going on holiday soon and didn't want to keep swapping my 10-22mm and 30mm so I was actually looking to get the Canon 17-55mm as well, then after some reading around, I'm about to purchase the Sigma 17-50mm

Can't wait to get it! The Canon 17-55mm has raving reviews so I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Definitely a significant step up from the kit lens if that's what you're coming from.
