Hey guys

I have an Alphacool Quad DDC bay-res, although only using 1 DDC with it. The whine from the motor is the loudest thing in the system! I understand it's probably because it's not isolated from the case etc etc ... but I want to check if anyone else with a bay-res is finding the same results? Is there any way to reduce the amount of whine from the pump?

Not familiar with the DDC pumps but does the RES have any trapped air? Filling it up completely can help reduce pump noise.

Nope ... no trapped air and no micro air bubbles. I've filled the res up to 99% full and the coolant flow is very good.

Whine? If you actually mean vibrating noise then yeah its the pump transmitting noise to the case but if you actually mean that the motor is really whining then this is definately not normal.

Personally I have a D5 and when I bought it it was making a whining noise at speed setting number 2 but then I increased to setting 3.5 and it stopped. But well you got a DDC..

Hmmm .... not sure if my DDC is a bit dudd then :( It's not a vibration, definitely a whine but thought it's been exacerbated by it not being decoupled from the case.
