Hi All I have the Phobya DC-12 400 18W pump on it's way. It connects via a standard 3 pin fan connector rather than a molex.

Now I have a zalman fan controller which has a maximum draw of 7w per channel (6 channels).

However the phobya draws the following:

Starting voltage: DC 8V
Power consumption: 18W
Current draw: 1.8

I know my controller can start the pump it can go up to 11v but I'm worried about my pump burning the controller out. Are their any electricians out there who can advise please?

Also if I cannot use the controller could I use it through the mainboard?

cheers

Bah OK thanks thought so much, I presume a fan header on a mobo isn't going to be sufficient as well?

Kind of make me think why have a 3 pin header if you cant use it.....
