As title really I had a ek 4.0 pump in my loop(CPU 2500k,gpu 7950,560sr1 rad, alpha cool dual bay res)
Was quite annoyed as the compression fitting went in then popped out results being its destroyed the thread on the outlet so is now useless even though it works fine booo, anyway I had what I considered good temps with this pump should I just stick with buying another of these or should I try the d5 or the ddc pumps? Any recommendations? I've seen that the d5 looks like it moves twice the amount of water than the ddc not sure about the ek 4.0 tbh is this correct? Not sure how comfortable I feel paying £80 odd pound for a pump though but if its gonna be better then I can be persuaded.
I notice ocuk do kits with tops are these worth buying? Or buy separately? What combo do people recommend?

Any help is much appreciated thanks Chris

EK 4.0 is not bad for your kind of a loop.
DDCs will have more head pressure compared to D5.
Flow is not every thing - even if D5 has a higher flow rate than a DDC 18W, DDCs are better when you have high restriction blocks or multiple blocks.

Get another EK 4.0, a D5 wont give you better temps. sounds like you got quite unlucky with the threading being worn down. If it isn't too badly worn, you could try plumbers tape or thread seal tape.

Though a D5 has a unhindered flow of 1200 lph and the EK 4.0 has 800lph, the EK pump has better head and is much cheaper. With either one, you will have enough flow to keep temperatures uniform in your loop, any more flow and you wont get a performance change.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys I suppose it would help a little if I told I what blocks I had te 7950 block is a aquacomputer and the CPU block is a rasa.
I may at a later date (really not sure though as I hear bad story's) of adding a 7950 when mine starts to struggle would the ek still be okay with this or?
Would it be worth paying the £28 odd for the ddc with top?

Sorry meant to say 28 on top of the base price of the ek 4.0.
I was talking about the 10w version or is that to be avoided and go to the 18w?

I was tempted to do the tape but worried the compression fitting will come loose and then destroy my pc then I would be livid that I didn't just spend £40 + rather than having to buy a whole new pc.
