Ive just purchase black ice SR1 280mm and Raystorm block, but want some ideas of pump/res options for my corsair 750d.

What is the best cost option, started thinking of the xspc 750 but heard about a lot of failures. Then D5 combos but too much choice.

Want something that is quiet and tidy.

Can't really go wrong with using a D5 pump, it's both silent & powerful

TBH, You're best bet is to have a look at some of the other builds & see what you like the look of.. almost all the D5 combo's will perform the same

Put a pic up of the space inside you case, you don't just have to have a bay res you could go tube res combo like the photon or you could go like my self and have a pump/top combo and separate res.

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-D5 Vario X-TOP - Acetal (incl. pump) £89.99
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-RES X3 150 Reservoir £39.98
2 x Monsoon 16/11mm (ID 7/16 OD 5/8) Free Center Compression Fitting Six Pack - Matte Black £27.95 (£55.90)
3 x Monsoon 16/10mm (OD 5/8) Rotary 90° - Matte Black £8.69 (£26.07)
2 x Monsoon 16/10mm (OD 5/8) Rotary 45° - Matte Black £8.69 (£17.38)
2 x Mayhems X1 Clear Premixed Watercooling Fluid 1L £7.99 (£15.98)
2 x Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 16/11 - Clear £5.99 (£11.98)
Total : £266.87 (includes shipping : £8.00).

This would be enough fittings and angle to set up a nice loop with the tubing and fluid needed.

Just remember to flush your rad before use and change the colours to anything that suites your taste. I think 250mm will be biggest you whould fit vertically (comfortably, ofc you could fit bigger) in your case you can change it to bitspower res or any other you like.

Welcome to the not so cheap world of water cooling (be warned its addictive!) lol

one tip is obviously before you buy anything get your ruler out and measure, making so to leave enough space above and below your res for Filling it/fittings.

I wouldn't use the XSPC all in one i haven't tried the latest one but the one i had failed.

Ive used most pumps the D5 is the pump of choice due to being able to control speed on the pump its self but if you want a decent cheep alternative go for the Phobyia/EK/Dangerden ones (they are all the same) i wouldn't use it for a big restrictive loop though, so pick your components well.

I have a monsoon basic bay res, red led + d5.
D5 is at speed setting 3, my rig is in my sig.
I had xspc 750 before and it's really loud pump, so bought D5 this time and it's great.

Thanks purchased 2nd hand D5 pump and EK-D5 Various X-Res 100, cant wait last delivery of parts tomorrow. Then the fun begins !!!

Enjoy !!

Would echo some other posters comment (my apologies for not remembering who ) on the D5 i.e. that cooling does not seem to be too affected by pump speed so usually best to start at setting 1 :)

Am running the ocuk D5 with EK-D5 X-RES 140 and it is now set at level one. (When it arrived it was set to 2 ; not noisy but decided to drop back and glad I did as it does appear to be cooling just as well at less rev's.)

Tested it outside the rig on speed 5 would great removing any trapped air but dead silent on 1 even with my ear pressed against it. So glad I took that option over the res combo from xspc. Only thing now is where to hang it in my 750d.

i think it just depends on the case. I had one in a Lian Li D600 and it was really loud.

binned it for a D5 a boom........ silence.

God know I wouldn't say that im aiming for almost silence as the rig is used as a gaming machine and htpc. Its pretty quiet with my H60 already but wanted silence and cool running temps.
