Punk and Hardcore

I'm just doing a presentation for Uni where I've got to devise a PR campaign as a group. We're doing ours on a music festival and came up with 4 bands (admittedly none of which would go anywhere near Swansea but it doesn't have to be realistic ), one guy in the group said he wanted a punk and hardcore section to the festival.
I know absolutely nothing about that kind of music besides knowing I don't like it But as I'm the one sorting out the powerpoint presentation for it, I need to know a few band names so I can throw in some details.

Any ideas?

Iggy Pop (maybe)

Looking at the guy I'm fairly sure he doesn't mean stuff like that, I just know he rattled off a long list of stuff I'd never heard of and I've heard of all 3 of those.
