Best is to fill the tank, fill it back up when the light comes on, and then fill it back up, then work out mpg, you can get accurate readings from putting £20 in.
considering its mostly town driving that sounds ok, maybe a little low. But again you Cannot tell by using the fuel gauge. Fill your car full everytime, and work out then your MPG from that.
If its a mk1 then 35-40mpg is all you will get....£30 does me 3/4 of a tank for 300 miles with driving like miss daisy. If you boot it it gobbbles it up they are really not that efficient considering the size of them....Punto mk2 is a bit better.
Have a punto courtesy car atm, had it for the last 3 days. Its the mk2.5
Put £20 pound in so far and done 190 miles and i got it on empty and the light isn’t on yet.
The trip computer says 47mpg, and no matter how i abuse it, it wont go down I love courtesy cars
