I've had my rigs CPU water-cooled via a custom loop and a D5 pump for years then I received the 3080 ti and connected everything up and started it up.

Then noticed what I thought was coil whine after installing or maybe it was the D5 pump (whatever I thought) but the more I thought about the coil whine and having an expensive GPU sitting just below the CPU water block it got me thinking if it was time to go back to air. Can you imagine a CPU block leaking on that exposed part of a 3080/3090.

Cut a long story short I ended up getting a Noctua NH-D15 and I cannot believe how much quieter the desktop PC is now and safer. Maybe my D5 pump was on its last legs. Who knows lol

Just a cautionary tale of protecting your expensive stuff !!

I've not had a chance to monitor the temps fully yet but I've just finished playing a game and the CPU now resting at 58 with fans running on silent through AI Suite 3 (CPU is Ryzen 9 3900X) - I think when I checked just before I kicked off game it was 52. GPU temp is currently 45
