Purchased a 8800GTS

So now should I upgrade my CPU?

Was thinking of going to a 6300 but is it worth it?

If everything is working fine with your present processor, then of course there isn't a need. But an upgrade to E6300 would be sweet.

Well the 8800 is yet to arrive but i may have a buyer for my current spec for £400

So should i spend the bit xtra to get the 6300/680i/ddr2 6400

I would see how u get on with your 8800GTS in your current system

All those components are still gonna be for sale in a few weeks/months and hopefully should be a bit cheaper! Who knows there could be even better chips coming out in a months or two . . .

the 680i is um . . . rather expensive! Lets see how the 650i Ultra shapes up, could be around the £110 mark. . .

I was running an opti 170 @ 2.8 with a 1900 xtx.
When i upgraded to an 6600 my 3dmark06 score went up by 1000 ish points.
I then got an 8800gtx and it went up afurther 4000ish points!

So yes do it.

if you got a buyer, take it, £400 should cover c2d upgrade.
