purchasing 2 4bit ram OR 1 8bit ram?? questions questions

I have 16bit ram. I am looking at buying more ram. I cannot afford another 16bit.

What about buying 8bit ( 4bit for both empty slots ). Would that be any good...or..better to buy the full 16bit rams.

Shall i get 1 8bit...or better to buy 2 4bit.

And a cheapish but good recommendation ?

Do you actually need more than 16 gigabytes? What are you doing that is causing a lack of RAM now?

In most cases it's best to keep things balanced but it won't hurt. But surely if 16GB isn't enough, 24GB is only a bit extra?
