Hello guys, I recently bought an ASUS PG279QM which is a 1440p 240hz monitor. Since I have been gaming on an old 144hz TN panel for quite a while it was such a big shock to me how much of an upgrade this would be. I am loving the new resolution.
My old 1080p monitor has now been relegated to my second monitor and honestly for a second monitor it is not bad but I am wondering if it would be worth it to get a 1440p monitor for a second monitor as I am really enjoying the higher resolution now. Would it just be a waste of money?
The easiest answer for uniformity would be to buy a second of the same monitor but it is quite expensive. I was thinking of perhaps a cheaper monitor but still at 1440p and the same size so 27". Looking at some threads and YouTube videos I have seen that some of the Gigabyte models were very good value for money but they do seem to be sold out in most places. Would it even be worth getting a cheaper alternative 240hz screen for my second monitor? I remember being on 60hz and it was actually painful I am not going to lie.
Another option would be to perhaps go even higher and get a 4k monitor for the second screen and use it only for like productivity and movies and stuff but not sure if that would be a silly idea.
