Hi all,

Towards the end of this year I will be buying a new gaming pc, I would rather have Overclockers build it for me and i'm weighing up these 2 options;

1. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-213-OE&groupid=43&catid=2040&subcat= with 6950 2gb and win 7 home premium £799.98 inc VAT.

2. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/syscon_int.php?prodid=FS-282-OK Same spec (apart from mobo and psu) £957.66 inc VAT.

Am I missing something or are the mobo and PSU really worth the extra £157.68? I chose the cheapest mobo on number 2.

I have a £1,200 budget for buying a built gaming pc - what are my best options?

I like the idea of sli 560ti's, but have heard there is an issue with micro-stuttering on dual GPU card setups so maybe i'm better off with a single 570/6970?

I will be running 1920x1200 and plan to play BF3 on ultra if poss, if I can do this with a single GPU and not have to worry about micro-stuttering then that is ideal.

Thanks

there is a premium to pay for the custom made PCs on top of the standard prebuilds for some reason. however, i suspect the motherboard on the cheaper one will not do SLI/crossfire (or if it can, it will do it at below x8/x8 speeds, bottlenecking the cards)

i've been asking for a while for OcUK to say exactly which motherboard your getting with the prebuilds, but its just not happening for some reason

Why not wait till you actually ready to order?

Prices and special offers change all the time.

Also you will have to ask customer support about exactly what motherboard at the time of order is being used in the "Battlefield War Rush" as it does vary from the three big makers (ASUS/Gigabyte/MSI) this is because OCUK may be offered deals from them so the boards get used in the pre-builds. They can also do a subtle upgrade of the motherboard for you making sure it its a good one.

You can do this with a single GTX570 etc.
