What's the cheapest way to buy a legit windows 7 key, I have the media just need the key. Everything seems to be geared to windows 8 which I don't want

Well that kicked up a bit of a **** storm 
It's basically for a mate whose currently on a low end XP box, I'm building him a new one out of bits and need Win7 so I can talk him through stuff on the phone support wise without the need to thumble about in Win8. He'll need new not an upgrade as he's likely to give the XP box to his kid to bash about on MS Paint for a bit.

Would stuff like control panel, device manager and general support functions be similar enough to talk someone through by phone from memory though?
It's not so much the 'metro' look even though I agree it is a bit touch screen orientated but the back end.
