Please assist in getting the best spec possible for my money, i already have the 24" dell monitor, good keyboard and mouse and a 4mb broadband connection.
the pc will be used 99% of the time for World of Warcraft and on-line shooters.
the initial budget started a £1k but this first spec has gone over which i dont mind as long as im getting value.

i would really appreciate any input and help, thanks in advance

seems like a great rig to me. the only thing i would change is the psu. i would go for something more reliable like a seasonic tagan enermax or ocz.

Rig looks sweet, if you are going to be overclocking your rig, I'd suggest maybe some better RAM? And I agree with johnno about the PSU :)

yep also the ram. because you dont wont ram holding back your overclock your ram at a later dat. if you stretch your budget possibly get a geil 2gb kit

Looks like it will be a sweet gaming rig. :D
I have a similar set up in a akasa eclipse 62 and i'am very happy with it.
The only thing that concern's me imho is the size of the hdd.I tend to go for 200+ gb hdd's now what with vista round the corner and games like dark messiah coming in at near 7 gb.Also go for sata II drive for better performance.

Enjoy your new computer

thanks for the input.
would anyone be good enough to spec me Nvidia system as a few ppl are telling me they are the best value top end graphics at the moment ?
around the same price £1100 and just need the box as before.

One 80GB hard drive? Are you joking?
I would ditch the 830 and go for a original stacker or the 810.
Go for X1900XT and clock it.
Buy XMS RAM.
Buy a different PSU.

Everything recommended so far.

You need an aftermarket cooler. Also consider going OEM on a lot of your selections.

Get a much bigger hard drive - you'll probably need it. A Seagate 7200.10 would be an excellent choice and very quick.
Don't get a Hiper PSU - lots of them fail. I'd get a Tagan or Seasonic, preferably 500W +
Don't get the new Stacker - get the old one, or get an Akasa Eclipse.
Go for a HIS X1900XT, should get X1950 speeds on it.
Get better ram - some Geil PC6400 would be a great choice.

If you can't afford the above, I'd drop the CPU to a 6300 and get a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard. You'll probably be able to hit 3GHz with the CPU when overclocked which will be considerably faster than a 6600 at stock. Get a decent cooler like an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro to keep things cool and quiet.

A bit of constructive criticism :)
