As title says really looking for new parts for my pc, i only use my pc for gaming and would prefer components that just give best fps without emptying my bank account, I dont need a whole pc as I currently have and will be keeping

500gig samsung evo ssd
win 7
gtx 980ti
seasonic 860 plat psu
corsair carbide air 540

so its just the motherboard, ram, cpu and cooler I need, since skylake is well...lame I guess the 5820k is the way to go? but the fps in games seems to be better with the 4790k in a lot of games but then will the extra cores be better late on? is skylake worth it anyway for the future?

my budget is 800 max but would pref around 700, As you can tell im really confused as a lot of motherboards have so much stuff on them and I have 0 idea what half of it does, Would like to oc the cpu too so a decent cooler is a must :)

thanks to anyone who can help me because im just totally confused as to which platform to go

Think of it this way, with some easy and simple overclocking you can get a 5820K upto the same speeds as the 4790K and negate any single core speed advantage it has.

Plus those extra cores ready for modern games.

Thats a good setup+board.

soz i dnt know how to link like you do :P but that build seems good, decent ram timings, looking at review for cpu cooler and it does good temps, mobos i just have 0 idea what i need to look for, that msi looks good and i like the aesthetics of it but it has quad sli and id only ever go duel 980ti and also has stuff like m.2 and a bunch of other stuff which i dont know what it does lol tad pricey but i dont mind if its going to be worth it

The Gigabyte sound is better, Creative Core3D processor, nicihcon caps etc.

You've picked slower ram and a cooler with lesser radiator dimensions.
