Hi all

Just bought 10 litres of purified water for my water cooling system because I couldn't find distilled water and was told it should do the same job more or less.

Have I made a mistake - will purified water work?

Cheers

It's exactly the same, you'll be fine.
The only difference is the method used to get the water like that - Purified = Reverse Osmosis, Distilled = Boiled.

Reverse Osmosis is filtered but in the final stage it's run through a DI anyways, RO water is far more pure then just DI, My RO water from my RO-Man has 0 TDS, Some say it absorbs mentals from the loop, IMO it's rubbish the more pure the water is the better, I use my RO unit because i have a Marine fishtank.

Reverse osmosis
Deionized
Distilled

The 3 main ones the top to bottom in TDS rating.

I've always used distilled water in my WC loops without any problems, we've got a water distiller where I work so I can get freshly distilled water whenever i need it, which isn't very often as I only tend to change the water if i'm upgrading my system or changing a water block or pump maybe, haven't upgraded in a while so water must be getting a bit manky by now, I don't use additive either nowadays!
