Purple rectangles on a Ti4200

This appeared on BFME2 (GeForce 4 Ti4200) after about 20 minutes in the game, am I right in thinking something has gone or is going bad on the card (looks fine in Windows)?

Before canning the card, uninstall and try reference drivers starting with the oldest and working to the latest to see which are the most stable but it does look like it's on the way out. Could be heat too.

stop what your doing! i suspect that the fan on your gfx card is dead. check it now or your card will die.

Could possibly be the memory on the way out as well / overheating

Fan was spinning fine when it was checked shortly after but doesn't mean it wasn't stopped at the time. New drivers in progress and will report back if it happens again.

Yup memory on the card has had it im afraid.

Try reseating the graphics card - it could be that one of the agp contacts is dirty or has oxidised a bit.

Also point a case fan at it, to make double sure it is not heating. Apparently we are expeiencing a heat wave this summer.
