purple screen

ok so my 9800 gt. on one of my dvi ports am getting a purple screen. the other is ok. so one port is gone what i am thinking is do buy another 9800 gt use that as main plug in for monitor and tv and then sli up to this 9800gt will this work and will it make things better for gaming or do i buy somthink like this .... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-069-GI

EDIT: Apparently on windows 7 and vista the 8 series and upwards are now supported in SLI multi monitor.

Off the top of my head you need a 200 series (not including GTS250) or newer card to use multi monitor in SLI mode.

my 9800 gt has sli point on it ?

Nothing to do with the SLI points - SLI used to only work with 1 monitor enabled - drivers to support multi monitor + SLI were released awhile back but initially didn't support a lot of older cards - now however it seems anything from the 8 series and upwards will work in Windows 7 and vista.

If your looking at spending around £100 maybe put up the extra and get a GTX460? it would be an overall better choice than 9800GT SLI.
