Purple tint on screem

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS with 512 DDR3 memory (PCIe 1.00 x16), it came, went & came again, reboot fixed it & a few days back, the colours in a game were skrewed up. A reboot for the purple screen & a restart of the game for the game thing fixed it.

I had a dodgy DVI cable cause a strange pink/purple tint.

sounds like its either the video lead or your monitor.

My wifes laptop had a purple tint and a reboot solved it. It kept doing it till I took the laptop apart and cleaned all the dust out and its not done it since.

So reckon its your screen. One thing to try if you can when it goes purple try if possible flexing the screen or tap it gently see if it goes away, this also got rid of the purple tint on the laptop screen.
