I'm heading out on Saturday for a week and whilst I'm there I'd like to ascend Mt Teide, a quick Google hasn't brought anything up.
Ideally Puerto De La Cruz area but we'll likely have a hire car to travel if needs be.
Pro Bike have ceased trading which is a bummer but surely there are others?

Any pointers much appreciated

I had my own bike when i was over there but had a look around the local shop in Las Americas which also hire bikes. Called Bike Point Tenerife but it's on the wrong side of the island for you.

Well today I claimed Teide, didn't make it to the top though as the bloody road was closed. Loads of snow and ice up there so I only made it 1700m out of 2400m odd. Still, 3 hrs to do 18 miles averaging 6% with patches of 16% is enough to get you going.
A good hard climb that I really enjoyed, just massively ****ed I couldn't get any further. Pacing went well, I was feeling good.
Bah, may try again on Friday...

This isn't a rant at the authorities for shutting the rd btw. More a rant at 3 hours of continuous climbing with no signs to say it was shut. I can assure you the descent didn't take as long. Hairy in places though due to the ice!

Puerto de la Cruz. Apparently the hard side :D
Longest ascent in Europe. Still unbelievably miffed I couldn't get to the top... So much so I think I'll have to have another bash on Friday, and just pray its open.

Yeah I have done a few routes round the peaks with 2000m of climbing but that's over 70+ miles. To do it all in 18 is mentally a bit of a bruiser... No let up whatsoever.

Oh, I meant continuous climb rather than total climbing in a ride.

The biggest in the uk is the Bealach na Ba at 600m.
It's crazy to be cycling uphill for over 20 miles.

Good luck for Friday - Hope the snow is gone. I wouldnt be too confident in that though. When I went up it, it was over 30 degrees at sea level and there was still snow at the sides of the roads on the top (but they were all open)!

Judging by the images over the past few days, it does seem to be thawing.
Team Cannondale are over there now, they posted this on twitter today:

As far as I can tell, Rigoberto Uran + Simon Clarke are over there with the team. See if you can catch them up the hill ;)

Yeah I'm not particularly hopeful tbh and mentally I'm not sure I can face 3 hrs of climbing to be told I can't do the last 45 minutes again... I'll do it again if I can get confirmation it is open.
Yeah I passed that lot, drafted for a while to get some fluids in then let them have it. Danced off into the distance :D
