Push email notifications on Iphone

Does it exist?

I have upgraded my iphone 3g to latest Ios4.2 and managed to set it up to work with my external domain google apps.

Im very impressed with the push side of things for email, contacts and calender but i cant seem to see how to set it to visually notify me if the screen lock is on for instance.

I get an audible sound and a number next to the inbox displaying unread email amount but i want it to push notify me that a new email has arrived.

Can anyone help ?
 
As far as im aware there is no offical way to get email notification on the lock screen.

If your jailbroken you can download "lockinfo" - it's a week or 2 trial and then payment though im afraid ($5). This shows can show email notifications on the lock screen.
 
As far as I'm aware the Yahoo Push email will pop up a notification but this has never been enabled / isn't possible for ActiveSync which push Gmail uses.

They added push notifcations to the Google Mobile app yesterday but disappointingly the email ones are only the beep + badge you get with the default mail client, so no improvement. (The Calendar push ones do popup a message though bizarrely).
