When using a D5 Vario or variant (such as a MCP655), should you have the pump be pushing water through the loop (directly after the reservoir), or pulling water through the loop (directly before the reservoir).

Reason I'm asking is because I read elsewhere that the D5 pulls better than it pushes, and should be mounted directly before the reservoir.

The D5 pushes water (upwards based on stock image)
all non-priming pumps do.
thats why the res must come BEFORE the pump.
It's mavity feed in a standard loop
and why sealed loops are approx 10% better (water is pushed into the pump)
This maybe what you read

To my limited knowlage you'd have to completely redesign the impeller to get it to pull.
Can you post a link to your source?
