morning everyone,

got a bit bored earlier so thought I'd have a tinker with my system. Got my Xeon x3350 running at 3.6 and my BFG 8800GTX OC running at:
Core Clock:621 MHz
Shader clock:1458 MHZ
memory 999 MHz (x2 remember)

Did a 3Dmark06 test and got 13687 points which I don't think is too bad. Would like to push the graphics card a bit more, any suggestions?

Here's a linky of cpu-z

have you thought about an aftermarket cooler for the gfx
chances are it will be quieter and allow for more oc headroom on the card

you can look at it two ways
new gpu = expensive
aftermarket cooler = cheap

you could argue that the oc gains you would achieve by fitting a third party cooler would be minimal and not justify the £30 that a new cooler costs

only things i can suggest is to ramp the cooling up and overclock further
but if the system is running ok then i would suggest leaving it how it is

edit*what ram are you running and is that clocked highly?

I'm using 2x1GB elpedia DDR2 pc-8500 ram and as far as i know that is bog standard, haven't tried clocking it.

Think I've been quite lucky because when the graphics fan comes on, you can hardly hear it, plus I don't want to void my warranty.

I'm using rivatuner and it doesn't seem to like the core clock being at 648 (that is the next step after 621) runs for a bit then screen goes black and have to restart.
