Hi,

Just a quickie...

I am looking at playing GTA V on my PC and my 9800GTX+ 512MB just isn't gonna cut it.

I am strapped for cash at the moment so cannot afford to go all out on an all bells and whistles card. Can anyone suggest an NVIDIA card in the £100 range that will get me through the next couple of years?

I was looking at the 750 range? Am I in the right area?

Thanks.

Second hand 7970.

+1. Go find a second hand bargain!

There arent any nvidia cards for 100 brand new that are worth buying imo. AMD have a 260x but isn't any better.

If it must be nvidia you can get second hand 760 for that price but a 7970 would take it to the cleaners.

I currently have an nVidia 9800GTX+, which works perfectly with my OS X, on my Hackintosh build.

While there may be a way to get an AMD card to work with OS X, I would have more confidence in getting an Nvidia card to work without as much hassle.

Yeah don't go near OSX with AMD. Total nightmare.

Used 680s are around a hundred notes.

Yeah Apple would never put AMD GPUs in their top of the line mac pro.... oh, wait.

(To be fair having just been cheeky - I do hear you've got to be quite picky about what AMD card to try and use in hackintoshes and some nVidia cards are not effortless too, though it's really AMD CPUs & supporting chipsets that are a huge pain)

Meh...

Been looking on the bay and there is very few offering for the GTX 680. Thought there might have been a decent selection on there.

If forum rules permit, can anyone suggest somewhere else I could look at picking up a second hand card?

Thanks
