Guys any advice on why my puyter has decided to stop workin. It was fine last night but when powering up this mornin it decided to holt on post screen. i have an asrock 4core dual vista board with q6600 8800gts grx 2x1g 667 mem and 550 corsair power supply. Only rebuilt it yesterday and was fine. can't even get into the bios and have reset the cmos but all with no joy. any advice would be great.

not as far as i can tell i have removed everything and placed back in. will try taking all out of the case and see how i get on.

I had this problem a week or so back, turned out it was shorting some I bought so insulating washers for it and not had a problem since. Only cost ~£2 for 50

try it with 1 stick of ram, i also suspect the graphics card may not be compatible. i remember having all sorts of touble with one of these boards and a 7950GX2

id also line the motherboard tray with electrical insulation tape.

Pretty sure the GPU doesn't work with that board I am sorry to say...

The 8800 GTS doesn't seem to work with the Dual VSTA board, it has something to do with the board not supporting the PCIE correctly (and before anyone tells me that PCIE 2 is fine with 1.x, I know, it is just something about this one particular board).

Google your board + 8800 GTS for more info.

you are correct sir. the chipset used doesnt support PCIE to the exact specifications hence causing all sorts of havok.
