I need some help putting some music on a D750i (T-mobiles version of the K750i i think)

Basically, got a new 2gb sony duo pro high speed memory stick, popped it in the phone and plugged phone into PC phone installed and appears as a removable disk. Inside was labled MP3 so i dragged and dropped some files of MP3s into it.

Problem is they seem to be copying across but when the phone is disconnected (safely) they dissapear. I have 3 folders out of 5 that i put on last night, but not all the song are in the folder say there should be 12 ongs but only 6 are in there. Tonight i dragged and dropped the missing songs and another 4 folders. the only a couple of extra songs were added to the existing folder, although everything appeared to copy across it didn't again!

I don't know if i'm putting them in the right place or if i should just be copying individual files instead of folders - should i have formatted the new card? if so how?

Thats 2 evenings wasted now - the phone isn't mine so i don't really know the ins and outs of what should be done.

can anyone help by giving an idiots guide to putting music on the D750i

On my w810 which is nigh on the same, on my memory stick i have a folder called music and then all my albums are in there.

I use disc2phone the software that comes with the phone which transfers it automatically, and reencodes the mp3's to the required bitrate. try finding the cd you got with your phone and it should install with SE pc suite.

The CD is installed but it's just some kind of file manager nothing i can see for music, maybe i'm blind lol but i'm used to nokias PC suite which has a nice easy to use graphical interface.

dont you have a screen like that? might just be the new software?

Oh no nothing like that- hmmm will double check tonight, and see what the score is, maybe have to download that might get somewhere then, cheers!

anyone tell me how to format the memory stick while in the phone?

Can the MP3s be in folders Ie all songs from an album in a folder with album name on. or do you have to do individual mp3s.

I did have thoughts of a dodgy card, but i get the same problem with the card that came with the phone

all i done for this was put the memory card in plugged it in and then formatted via windows when it shows up as removable disk.

And yes you can have them in folders!

Are you making sure the computer is disconnected before you try to play the files? The phone can't access the memory stick while the USB port's in use.

If you're making sure all the files are in the "MP3" or "Music" folders then you're doing the right thing and there's something faulty somewhere. It's always worked without a hitch on my phone except for with one damaged memory stick.

Yes, the K750i software is basically just a file manager, that pretty interface must have been added for the W810i or later.

Well i've formated the memory card in the phone, and i'm currently transferring some music using disc2phone software that is bundled in with the W800/810i and it seems to be working so fingers crossed!

There's no need to use any special software. I think that's mainly for accessing the phone's small internal memory.

On mine, I just plug the USB data cable in, the memory stick shows up as a standard removable drive in My Computer and I plop the music in to the MP3 directory. Seperate folders for albums are fine. Are you using the 'safely remove ... drive' icon in the system tray when you're finished copying?

Yep was doing all that and using the safely remove thing but it wasn't working hence trying disc2phone which unfortunately has the same problem.

It all appears to copy fine but i only get a few tracks, gonna take ages getting it all on there like this.
