I read today how a child's new MP3 player came loaded with smut.
After giggling a bit at the thought of this and also being reminded of the cinema scene in Fight Club I remembered when I returned a DSLR camera which had a hot pixel on the sensor.

"Within 10 minutes, my daughter was crying,"

I got an email some weeks later from a lady who had bought a camera for her husband and wondered why all the photos they shot were being copyrighted to me - I explained the item had been returned as faulty and the franchise camera shop had resold it as a brand new product instead of marking it as either refurbished or returned.

"I wish I could take the thoughts and images out of her head."

I think what this guy did was more than likely an oversight but perhaps he had experienced a similar incident when buying a product in the past and wanted to make sure he got his own back on the store by returning the item with "some materials" loaded onto it ? I know this kind of action is morally wrong but it would teach these shops to stop be stingy and not resell the item as a new product...

Hill is dissatisfied with the offer and has kept the product while he consider whether or not to sue the retailer.

Someone is going to be enjoying some free smut this holiday season.

maybe instead of putting things on the device which could offend the consumer why not just put something like a picture or text just stating the camera was returned as faulty and if you bought this as new then you was mis-sold the item ?

It will ween out the companies / people who resell stock whcih is faulty or returned and wont offend/harm the people who buy the item.

Oh this reminds me, the SPARTAAAA! pic but RETURRRRRNED!!! :p

I like the idea of at least putting something on there stating it had been returned faulty... it's ridiculous when shops re-sell faulty returned items.

I think Argos already have a clause in their terms and conditions which says that their 16 day refund policy doesn't apply to things like MP3 players etc, supposedly for this reason.

Are you thinking about the guy who wanted to know how to erase the 70GB of porn from his HDD before selling it? :D

LOL as classic as that thread was unfortunately im not thinking of that one.

im certain that some one bought an mp3 player and it had what he called "porn songs" on it!

Mate of mine was round his in-laws for xmas dinner. There was about 9 people in the front room (3 or 4 kids also)

One of the In-laws presents was a Digital photo frame, so my mate decided to show them how it worked. He took the memory card out of his mobile and plugged it in the slot of the 8" photo frame - which also played MPGs and AVIs in front of everyone. He then asked one of the kids to plug in the power supply and turned it on.

Funily enough, the first thing that flashed up was a video of some anonymous Newcastle girl making love vigourously to some random bloke while she shouted swear words loudly (one of the videos someone had bluetoothed him on his mobile)

Needless to say he pulled the power lead out at the first few frames while everyone in the house looked wide-eyed in astonishment at him.
;)
