hey guys,

im going to put my shed up tomorrow for my bike (soon be bikes when i find a nice YZ) and also to use as a workshop for them.

now i would like to know if any of you guys have the same sort of thing be it a garage or whatever but most importantly, what are the essentials that i will need to start off my workshop, i have the following

decent socket set
spanner set from 6mm to 32mm
small compressor
pliers
screw drivers
nylon mallets (3 different sizes)
raw hide and copper head hammer
allen keys
metal rule
brass punch
drill
and some other bits but cant remember.

im currently getting some materials together to make a small workbench at the back of my shed for a small vice to bolt on to it as well.

so is there something you guys think i need that would help me?
im going to get a rear paddock stand for the road bike and a ally stand for the MX bike.

so yeh have i missed anything? thanks :)

decent lighting ! grease, a tub of each type /bottle jacks / files /

Im pretty much doing the same thing.. i have the shed (14x8) and built my bench and got a decent vice. I have plenty of tools and have decent lighting . My ramp arrived the other day . Just waiting on door locks and few bits and bob's to finish it

A good Pro set of Ratchet spanners, They are worth there weight in Gold.
Electricity.

Loads more things I can't recall right now.

Yep insurance know it's in a shed, i work with oil at my workplace so i can dispose of it there, got grease, only basic stuff tho, need to get power sorted to it still

You have missed out one and most important piece of equipment known to man kind.

A Kettle.

Yes! Leccy, heat, a kettle and a crappy little portable TV for watching the motogp/f1/football/EastEnders while working on the bike.

A bike lift would be really beneficial, having spent a few hours on my knees today I'd have given anything to have the bike at decent height to work on.

I would put myself an old piece of carpet down on the floor and get some sort of heater in there on these cold months

a cheap air compressor would be handy, always wanted one of those, and maybe rig up a hoist/chain ratchet to help you work on forks ect

some shed alarm aswell with all that nickable stuff in there
