Puzzle Quest 2

I see this is coming out for the PC in a few days on Steam, currently 10% off if you pre-order. Anyone else tempted to get this? I liked the first one and it seems the reviews of this are univerally positive, unlike for the disappointing Galactrix.

I enjoyed the first one, however I found it a little repetative after a while. I also got frustrated by the clearly cheating AI who seemed to consistently get massively lucky "drops" in order to defeat you.

Played it more on the DS than on the PC though, great as a portable game.

I have the original on DS and PSP - The PSP version is wonderful. I am really dissapointed that PQ2 isn't out on PSP.

I may have to consider it on PC.

Didn't play the first but i have been considering it, just not sure i wanna drop £12 on it when i really can't guarantee i'd play it much.

I'm reluctant to spend that much on a game like this as well, especially without a demo.

This has been getting some good reviews. For £5 I'd snap it up, but £14, I'm not so sure.

I barely touched the 1st one on the PC, but loved it on the DS...but I don't have my DS anymore. They look to have expanded on the RPG/Exploration side this time...so is it worth a punt?

If the first Puzzle Quest was like crack, then this one is some sort of ultra refined crack. I can't believe how addictive it is.

Ditto. Can't put it down, I have things I need to do!

What class did you pick? I went with the Knight/Paladin guy. He's a tough mofo, basically blocks everything but doesn't do much damage so games go on for ages!

Tempted to start again as someone else. Loving the improved loot system from the first game.

Was playing Puzzle Quest 1 on PSP yesterday and this morning for the first time and I really wanted to throw my PSP through the window so many times. Seriously the amount of times you get owned. The whole game is a bit too random for my liking.

Thats the only downside - the difficulty is increased simply by giving the AI better "luck", ie he gets chained drops build up when he makes a move.

I tried it on higher difficulty and found it just to be an excercise in utter frustration. "Normal" is about right.
