So I'm thinking of building a PVR/Net top/HCPC as I may have some hardware going spare after Christmas.

I've just managed to acquire a Dell Optiplex 745 case for free from work (it was going in the bin, I haven't stolen it)

So now it looks like I'm good to go, however one question.

The frankenstein's (baby)monster I'm planning to build will have a motherboard out of a HP Pavilion. Specs below

Intel G33 express chipset
Processor Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q8200
IPIBL-LB (Benicia) Motherboard

My question, along with the stock graphics card and a hard drive will all this fit in the case? Obviously I'll been a different power supply, but I'm saving space by not having an optical drive.

So, will it fit?

I think the lack of responses is purely down to people not knowing. Dell often use proprietary components with custom sized motherboards and PSU's and your also using a motherboard that very few people will be familiar with.

From this Optilex specification pdf there also seems to be multiple different cases that fit your description:

Your travelling in unchartered sea, if you've got nothing to lose then I suggest you just give it a go!

From that spec sheet, it looks like a bog standard 9.6x9.6 board will fit them all, although the ultra small form factor may be a bit of a challenge. Just get your measuring tape out, mate, and apply it to the case you got from work - simples. :) It's the best way to be sure.
