Hi

Im building a PC just now and only components I dont have yet is the CPU.

I bought a 3/4 Pin PWM Fan Splitter but when I power on PC the connected fans wont spin.

I tried in a few different headers but same issue.

Is the splitter faulty or is there something I need to enable in the BIOS?
Or is it because I dont have CPU installed?

Thanks

Me again ;)
What splitter did you buy?
3 fan splitters & above usually include a power connector of some sort, either molex or sata.
Fan headers will usually power up to 2 fans 3 at a push

BTW it would help if you powered up the board with a CPU in it. :D

Lol..

It was the generic ones u see everyone selling on .. well lets just say its the rainforest in Brazil.

There is no power for it just PWM and I currently have 3 ports used. I will try removing one and see if it works but would seem weird its advertised as 5 splitter if u can only use two.

Ok strange outcome but I at least got them working..

The 6 fans I have were meant to be the same.. 3 pulled from the same case.

However on the 3 new ones I received the fans were 3 pin.. on the ones i got with my case they were 4 pin.

So I only connected the 3 x 3pins to the splitter and the 4pins to the motherboard and now they are all lit up and spinning with the case light button controlling all 6 of them..

Just need to see when im in BIOS if these fans connected to splitter can still be controlled so they dont run full speed constant lol.
