I've just received my delivery from OC'ers, of an Aquaro 5 LT, mainly because all my fans are PWM, and with a regular fan controller they hum, and I like to have a certain amount of control over them. But after reading the manual it only has 1 PWM fan connection which can handle 1 amp.I understand that I can use the 3 pin connectors but with them not being 4 pin will they still hum ? The hum is louder than the fans on 12v.

How do you work out how many amps my fans will be pulling, and even though the one connection is a 4 pin will that stop the hum. I'm starting to think I should have just bought some voltage drop cables. never mind we live and learn. cheers guys.

Sometimes it says on the fan itself what the current rating is. Failing that and maybe also, as the fan ratings are not always very accurate, look online for reviews or things. There was one set of vidoes that showed had fans hooked up to a power supply with meters showing the Current draw.

You can also hook up a fan to 12v and use a multimeter with current capability to get the reading yourself.

What fans are they?
