Hi - I had to turn my system on fully first time to bleed it as my D5 PWM pump would only run at 60% and wouldn't fill the system. Fortunately no leaks. About to add GPU block and do not want to leak test with MOBO powered up. My PSU has cables and sockets for connecting fans -

Question: if a connect the pump's PWM plug directly to one of these cables and the PSU will it run at 100%. Nervous to try it just in case something goes up in smoke.....

thanks.

This may help. freddie64 shared this when I was having the same problem, forces the pump to run at 100% so makes bleeding simple :)

Just connect the pump power lead to one of your psu's fan leads and it will run at full speed. To run the psu without powering the system remove the 8 and 24 pin plugs from the motherboard along with any gpu and ssd/hdd plugs. You then need to jump start the 24 pin with a paperclip (see here) unless your psu came with a bridging tool (basically a 24 pin female socket with the wire inserted for shorting the psu).
