pwn2own

The competition does a good job of illustrating that OSX/Safari haven't, in fact, transcended the mortal realm of computer programming.

It's important to look at it in context though, I'd be surprised if they didn't get owned and I fully expect Firefox to go down tomorrow as well. It's the nature of the beast.

Iphone and Blackerry have both been compromised.
Looks like no one had any exploits for the Android, WP7, Chrome or Firefox.

How do Apple maintain there image?!

Because they have pretty products which have aluminium bits on them and are shaped nicely and also they have a good logo and advertising. Actual quality of software or hardware is irrelevant beyond this to a lot of the apple fanboys.

The whole point of this competition is to prove vulns and get massive cash, so were talking about the best exploiters in the world bringing their A game.
Everything will be destroyed each year at pwn2own.

Forgot about this this year!

Funny how Vupen sell there exploits, surely by attending this they are devaluing there assets as the bugs they exploit will be fixed.
Makes you think how many exploits are in use that go unnoticed!

Strangely Google pushed out 10 updates and fixed a bunch of security problems with Chrome a day or two before the competition started leaving minimal time for research into other vectors of attack.

Doesn't leave them much in the way of bragging rights really although most won't realise that and see past the headlines unfortunately.
