Introduced my sisters boyfriend to the PC a before christmas.. hes only 17 and has been a console gamer... We where playing BF2 and he got hooked.. so after begging his mum for a PC for xmas he got his way and i built him a nice little system (AMD 3200/7800GT/2GB RAM/SATA HDD).

So ive been playin BF2 online with him and he makes me look like a noob!! hes been playing FPS for a matter of weeks and ive been playing for years and hes getting gold/silver medals on maps!! Im no where near him!

Thats what i get for growing up with spectrums and commadore 64's eh?! ..maybe im just crap lol :D

Kids are more um....dextorous these days so they pick things up quicker :p Thats what i blame it on anyhoo ;) :p
 
ahh memories.. that i remember i wanted that speedking so bad... and i was so jelous of the kid down the road who got an amstrad lol!

but then i got my amiga 500 an i had the best computer on our road.

how times change :p
 
i remember getting a speccy 128 for xmas... i was sitting on the living room floor in my y-fronts listening to 'george harrison - got my mind set on you' on the radio playing spy hunter... King of the road!!!

thats true, i think even different people are good at different FPS games; i was very good at counterstrike.. would often finish top but with BF2 im just crap.. which is a shame because it is such a brilliant game.. i still enjoy it tho :)

tell you what though.. bring out a jetset willy multiplayer an ill show all these young'ens how to game lol :p
 
How are you supposed to be a dominator in BF2? Other than being a medic or in an attack chopper..

For me, I find it's about being in the right place at the right time, but I'm never consistent..
 
I was really good at joint ops, i was a one man army on some occasions.
With BF2 i am an uber n00b, mainly because i cant get used to the crap way the guns shoot, In Joint ops, you line the sights op on someone, and pull the trigger, they got shot.
In BF2 you pull the trigger and the bullets go in an entirely random direction.
Things are not to bad with the F2000 though i have to admit.

Those "The Bug" joysticks were great, I had a couple for my old amiga. They were a bit different to that speedking as the joystick was symmetrical and two buttons were at the front and looked like bug eyes. Couldn't get a decent pic on Google image search but good old Yahoo! did the job.
