PX price, any good?

My girlfriend wants to buy a new car and has been offered 11.5k to trade in her September 2006 BMW 318 SE auto with leather and 20k on the clock.
Is this a decent offer?

Parkers is a joke. I would pay 12k all day buying that in if its in good condition and doesnt need tyres. maybe 12.5k in a deal.

No, thats a terrible offer, but they are a dealer. If your girlfriend can swallow the loss over selling it privately then thats ok. You will never get the value of a private sale from any dealer, ever. But the upshot is that it's an instant deal, ie: no waiting for a buyer to come along and bounce his loafers off the tyres. The car is at a guess perhaps worth 16-17k s/h from the mileage and SE spec?

Don't part ex prices alter dramatically depending on how much you're actually spending.

Thanks for the info.
They have agreed to 11 300 for the car, its in fantastic condition other than a one scuff on the front bumper.
I am going to put it up on auto trader for 12.300 so if I manage to sell it by the end of the week fine, if not the dealer can have it.

Her max budget is 22/23k. We cant find a good sport for that (she does not like silver). However the 335i's come with M-sports suspension, Sports seats and a few other bits. But It would be nice to fit the M-Sport bumpers.

I think the deal is quite good, just looking privately, there is about £10K difference between 318SE saloons and 335i SE Coupe's, so the deal seems reasonable.

I agree with Fox that on the surface going from one 2006 3 series to another with a difference engine/door configuration seems odd on paper, but I guess the market dictates this is how it is!

If she's an out and out petrol head it makes more sense but if she's an out and out petrol head I suspect she wouldnt have bought a nearly new 318i in the first place, so I'm struggling to see the rationale behind this deal.

I agree that the advert is terrible. Spend 2 minutes finding out what the service pack entails. Don't mention that you've been getting a black car cheaply washed every two weeks, it just says swirl marks to me.

Lol I will make a bit of effort and put up a decent advert later today with some pictures.

She bought the 318i new 2 years ago, I told her to get a used car however her dad was paying for the car and he does not like the idea of a used car so she got a poverty spec 318i SE!

Now that she is working and we are paying its up to us, but yes its a crime to pay 20 something k for a 318 lol.

well 9 200 as I got them down a little, Personally I think it worth it.
