I'm looking to build a PXE server to hold image files of various windows installers and unix based bootdisc utlities, so far I have come across Serva for windows, but it is payware and it doesn't work brilliantly, is there a linux distribution which is tailored for what i am trying to do?

Use fog here as well, however the boot menu is now a shadow of its former self, but its great to to use in getting off the ground.

Just wish WDS was a bit more tailorable!

I've never used fog myself... Deploystudio for macs and sccm/mdt for windows but all I hear is good things about it.

I've tested 1.2 but our live environment still runs 0.32, I'm guessing its not so trivial add extras to the PXE boot menu now?

no idea lol, they've been busy these last 6 months! were still running .33 irc!

Will check out the latest build.

Serva and FOG are different animals; while FOG deals with HDD images what
most of the time requires similar/identical target hardware, Serva natively PXE
boot/install Windows & Linux distribution images (ISOs) what brings target
hardware independence.

BTW what kind of lack of brilliance have you found when using Serva?

Been playing with it for a few weeks now and its actually very good. Fog's kernel doesn't seem to boot on most hardware I have but VMs are fine.
