Hi all,

TP-Link will be around on our forums tomorrow from 9AM to answer all questions about TP-Link and their products! - Feel free to ask some questions in this thread now and they will be answered as soon as possible in the morning and throughout the day!

You can ask anything from, how do powerline adapters work? Or what is a dual band router? Or even, what does TP-Link stand for?

So this is your chance to ask anything about networking, whether it is technical knowledge or even sales advice on their products. Get asking!

So to get the ball rolling, here is my question...

Can I use an AV1200 powerline from TP-Link along with a AV500? Will this be compatible?

What features do TP Link routers have that will favour gamers who use wired or wireless connections.

For example the Netduma R1 router seems to be feature packed with things like ping stats etc whilst having decent under the hood hardware including PoE in with a supported Voltage of 9V-30V. The only thing it lacks is wireless AC.

The vast majority of people, members here withstanding, tend to just go wireless these days. I know my PC is the only one connected by cable in this house, whereas we have 4 mobiles, 3 tablets, 2 kindles, a printer, and 3 laptops all running wireless.

It probably is not aimed at the enthusiast but rather the general population.
 
TP-Link, why do you still use nasty green PCB's? Your adaptors are superb, but just look "ugly" in an enthusiasts PC.

Mine had to get the plastidip treatment.
 
Why are manufacturers cramming more external aerials onto routers when output is governed by law it reminds me of gillette razer blades where more isn't necessarily better
 
What's with the CPE products? Haven't Ubiquiti pretty much sewn the market up at the price points you are aiming at?

At the moment Google onHub is only available to pre-order in U.S and Canada.

For the ETA in U.K, TP-Link is still discussing the dates with Google.

Hi Twirlywoos,

Have a look at the Archer C7, supports gigabit ports, has got a Atheros 700Mhz Cpu. It supports 450Mbps on 2.4Ghz band and 1300Mbps on 5Ghz band.
Would be perfect for gaming.

When will the Archer C2600 & C3200 be available in the UK and do they have a wall mount option please?

What is the most similar in speed & MU-MIMO technology to the above routers in just a WAP device?

Are there any new WAP devices due for release with dual band, AC2600 or above, preferably with MU-MIMO or similar technology?

That is a very good question.:)

Spuddy, At the moment TP-Link only has plans for a Wi-Fi router.

However, maybe in future we might consider a modem version of the router as well.

Hi

Ive got a 3 bed house my vm superhub is in my study with an 8 port switch and ive ran a network cable to the opposite side of the house to my lounge where ive put another 8 port switch and an old dlink 615 router running dd-wrt in ap mode

My issue is my bedroom which is above my lounge about halfway between the 2 routers struggles with wireless signal for streaming.

Would getting a newer ap or router downstairs that supports 5ghz and wireless ac help with that or should I just go for a repeater in my bedroom and which of your products would be best for my needs?
