Actually it is just for some better coverage. There are some aerials which can support dual band 2.4Ghz as well as 5Ghz.

Hi I have the TP-Link N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit VDSL2/ADSL2+ Modem Router (TD-W9980)

It does not work out of the box with my ISP and connection type.
(SKY UK - FIBRE PRO)

The idea behind purchase, was to replace my SKY provided router, and eliminate the need for the additional OPENREACH hub, which my current router runs through, (BT HUB provides the VDSL2 connection.) I just want to reduce cable clutter, and improve Wi-Fi etc

I've read many threads online, both on the official forums and not, but their does not seems to be concrete "yes no answer", will the said product receive an official firmware update to support MER and enable the router to work with SKY Fibre?

I've also read about an BETA that does just that, with users reporting success but the side affect IIRC was poor WI-FI, in that particlaur update... and I have of course avoided it so far.

Hi Stuie,

Thanks for your post. I would suggest you go for the powerline unit. The TL-WPA4220 would be good .You would get two adaptors with this unit one, which you would have to plug it to your router and the other one you can connect to your bedroom which would resolve your wifi problem permanently.
Please note that this unit would work as long as you whole electrical circuit terminates on a single ring main.

I am looking for a router for my home with gigabit lans and ability to in depth manage what any IP address downloads and limit their dl speed so for example I am playing game and my roomate decides he wants to download stuff i would like to clearly tell that this is the ip thats downloading and either slow him down or block him entirely.

Some wifi would be nice 2,4/5 I use some tablets and chromecast.

I cant stand virgin superhub its useless...

i think a lot of us would alos like a replacement for the Virgin Super(crap) modem/router.
there seems to be nowhere you can get an all in 1 replacement :'(

Hi Glent,

Thank you for your comment. We would soon be releasing an official firmware update for this. We already have a beta firmware which supports the MER function. If poor wifi is experienced I would highly recommend to change the channels on that particular band and check if the problem resolves.

The new Archer C2600 will be available in U.K from September 2015.

Also, the Archer C3200 will be available in early next year.

Now, Regarding the wall mount option, both the C2600 and C3200 are wall mountable.

-At the moment only C2600 supports MU-MIMO technology and there are no other routers in TP-Link range which has the similar features.

3-Are there any new WAP devices due for release with dual band, AC2600 or above, preferably with MU-MIMO or similar technology?

-We are working with the chipset manufacturers to bring out some new products with Dual-band, AC2600 or more and MU-MIMO features.

As an when the products will be completed, they will be available to view on our websites.
 
Hello TP-Link,

How do I fix my TP-Link powerline kit that keeps randomly loosing connection and then back again after about 2 minutes?

I had a TP Link 200 that did this so I thought it needs an upgrade anyway and upgraded to a TL-PA411KIT.

This too did that after a few weeks, so I had it replaced, and the replacement had the same issue.

I accept it could be my connection / voltage / wiring ect..

But I get really good speed connection speed when it works AND I have since bought a different branded Powerline Adopter that starts with N and it has been going strong for over 6 months and no drop offs. This other branded adopter is a slightly older model and not a nano kit.

So now I have a spare 200 and a 500 kits made by TP link that I don't use.

Would love to know what is causing this random drop off in connection?

looking on the net, I'm not alone?

The TL-PA8030P KIT is one of our most advanced and stable power-line products in range till date.

It uses MIMO power-line technology, so one can expect maximum speeds and stable performance from these units.

It does provide support for multicast packets, so if you are having sketchy issues in streaming multicast packets , then try the following:-

1-Plug the receiver PA8030P unit in a different wall socket and see if you experiencing the same issues.

2-Make sure that the unit is plugged directly into the wall socket and not on an extension lead or surge protector.

3-If you are still experiencing problems, then try resetting and re-pairing both the PA8030P units.

Hi Smrtka,

Most of our wireless routers have a bandwidth control function on it.For eg If you are playing a online game and other person is downloading then you can reserve the most of the bandwidth for you and allocate only little to other person who is downloading. Iwould recommend you to go for Archer D5 which would have gigabit ethernet ports, support dual band and also have bandwith control option.

What TP-Link power plugs would you suggest in getting for maximum throughput?
(The router I am using is a Linksys WRT1200).

for reference - beta firmware works fine with this router on sky fibre pro - no issues with wifi personally for me. Been using it for a couple of months now.

Hi Mattmos

Currently we only have T3700G-28TQ which has got upto four ,10Gigs SFP ports
which is a layer3 managed switch.The other one is T2700G-28TQ which is a L2+ switch with four , 10Gb Sfp ports.

May be in the future we may consider similar switches with10Gbe ports.

Hi Tidusjar,

We would recommend you go for the AV1200 powerline unit to get the maximum throughput if you have a high speed internet connection and want to stream videos etc. You can go for the TL-PA8030P kit , which has got gigabit ethernet ports.

Yes, we do understand that some of the customer's want alternative for routers such as Virgin Super Hub.

At the moment TP-Link do not have a router that will directly replace the Virgin Super Hub.

However, you can use the Virgin super Hub as a modem and use one of our TP-Link routers to handle the routing processes and wireless functions.

Not sure if the rep is still around but I'll ask anyways.

I have AV500 nano and wifi kits (TL-PA411Kit / TL-WPA4220T). From the beginning I have gone into the utility software and ticked the box to set them all to the network name homeplugav but Im having an odd issue with them in that they will out of nowhere all drop connection, I have to go to each one to find out that the box to set them all to HomeplugAV has been unticked as the traditional pairing instructions do not work.

The original part of my house is old and there is a newer extension. The base plug is plugged into the newer part of the house along with 1 of the wifi plugs, and the other 3 are plugged into the older side, i dont know if this makes a difference.

I dont know if RMA'ing them would make a difference.

I bought them elsewhere, but the warranty would be with TP-Link directly I assume.
